SEARING FIRST LOVE’S TOUCH

Red velvet lips

Sizzling

As you caramelized

My kisses;

Sharp cheeks

Spilling

Adoration down our necks

As hot tongue’s surface

Chased autumnal sadness

Away,

Beneath your heavy breaths

Rest my lungs

Crashed to death

By excitement’s

Tantalizing surge,

Expectation pressing hard

Into the oval opening

Between heart’s

Blushing cracks;

Weariness a memory

Committed to shriveling cells

As we massage the scalp

Above nirvana’s hooded eyes

With curious fingers

And trembling weakness

In the face of something

Inhumanely

Great.
