When spring came around

I melted the sun

So it would bleed light

Onto the snow

And carve my elation

Into the molten sea of granulated hope,

Threw open the windows

And shattered the glass

Its echo shredding the last of

My resolve,

Saw only your face

When discarding my clothes

Then drowned in the

Spreading memory of your promise

To come lie with me

Once the cold is no more,

Writhing on the bed I waited

Hands grazing prickly skin

Until the waters of doubt

Claimed me

And the refreshing taste of

Coated my numbed senses,

Though the warmth of you in my thoughts

Whipped winter away from this threshold

It was the cold in my heart

That caused you to hide

Wasn’t it, my love?
